Meet Monzie- who, what and why.
Hey y’all! I’m Tabatha, owner of Monzie + Me, I am so many things, a wife to Leo (my soldier and biggest fan), a mother to THREE boys, a Jesus loving, good vibe having, Starbies drinking, wild child. I am also Monzie. I’ve prayed long, hard, and mighty over this business, and as it was coming to fruition I had no question of what it would be called. One of the most influential people in my life was my Aunt Tammy, she was full of Jesus, love, and never ending support. She was also the only person to call me Monzie. When she passed away, one of the hardest parts to come to peace with was never hearing her say Monzie. With this deep rooted feeling, I knew she had to be a large part of what I am doing.
In July 2021 I was sick, not have a cold sick but I AM DYING sick. After multiple stays throughout the month on August 1st 2021 I was picked up by an ambulance, and finally a doctor sent me to a different hospital. It was there that I as diagnosed with a vitamin b/thiamine defiency . It had went undiscovered for so long that my organs were shutting down. After over a month in the hospital just fighting to survive I was sent to in patient rehab to learn to walk again. I "graduated" there walking like a baby penguin. Thankfully I now walk like a toddler, so progress! I am here when I was told I would not be, I fight every day to keep walking. I had my independence taken from me and I refuse to be a victim. I spend every day fighting my body, and some days I loose.
I tell you this to be transparent. I want this to be a safe space for everyone. I want you to know who I am, what I fight for, and why Monzie & Me means everything to me. Other than my boys (big and small) this is it. This is my life. This blog will serve as an open space for me to talk about all things. Of course clothing, I do run a business. But so much more than that. Mental health. Parenting. Relationships. Serial Killers. The important things in life.
I hope you take this journey with me. I hope you love the luxe vibe of Monzie, but most importantly I hope you know you are love, valuable and worthy.
Stay Beautiful,
